Kinshasa, January 14th, 2023 (CPA).- Moroccan club Wydad Athletic club de Casablanca inherited Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia, which they will face in the quarter-finals at the end of the draw for the World Cup des clubs 2022, which will take place from February 1st to 11th, 2023 in Morocco, carried out by the international federation of association football (FIFA) on Friday, in Rabat. Reigning African champion, winner of the African Champions League (C1), the WAC will face the Saudis, before possibly rubbing shoulders with the Brazilians of Flamengo, winners of the Copa Libertadores 2022 automatically qualified in the semi-finals. The Moroccans will have to experience a course strewn with pitfalls to reach a possible final. As such, they will have to count on the support of their public.
Present as runners-up in the last Champions League, given that hosts Morocco are already represented by Wydad, Egypt’s Al Ahly will start in the first round against Australians Auckland City FC. If luck smiles on them, they will continue with the Americans of Seattle Sounders in the quarter-finals, before possibly dreaming of a semi-final against Real Madrid, champion of the European Champions League 2022 automatically qualified for the semi-finals of this competition.

The winner of this cup will succeed Chelsea, the winner of the last edition.
