
Mbandaka, December 26th, 2022 (CPA).- The mutation into an electoral platform of the Sacred Union of the Nation, grouping of the majority in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was requested in a motion of support from the governors of provinces signed Friday in Mbandaka, at the end of their 9th conference, learned the CPA on the spot.
« It is time to proceed with the mutation of the « Sacred Union of the Nation » into an electoral platform, with a view to carrying the candidacy of President Félix Tshisekedi to the presidency of the Republic until the final victory », he added, promising him « an indisputable victory in the December 2023 elections », read, on behalf of the « Collective of Provincial Governors », his spokesperson, Pancras Boongo, Chief Executive of the Tshuapa.
« You are not a ‘Deus ex machina’, it is impossible to achieve the goals you have set for yourself only for 5 years. A second term is needed », he insisted.
In this motion, the governors of the provinces also noted « several actions with a visible impact which characterized President Tshisekedi’s leadership, in particular the unequivocal nationalist and sovereignist management of the security issue in the East and West. of the country; active diplomacy; the fight against impunity and the promotion of free and independent justice; universal health coverage and free education ».
Reading the last report of the 9th conference, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Interior, Daniel Aselo noted, in his capacity as rapporteur, that out of 144 resolutions taken during the 8th session held in Kinshasa, only 26 were carried out. 44 have had a start of execution and 39 have not, he said.
Recommendation follow-up
The Deputy Prime Minister also insisted on the urgency of restoring the authority of the State, before recommending to the central and provincial executives to make efforts for the follow-up and application of the recommendations of various sessions.
In his closing speech, Felix Tshisekedi said he was determined to get involved in the implementation of the recommendations from the 9th edition of the conference of governors.
« The various recommendations that you have formulated show our common determination to find urgent solutions to the problems that affect the daily life of our fellow citizens », declared the President of the Republic.
« The recommendations made here are part of a perspective of reconquering our territories, with the dual objective of strengthening national cohesion and shaping social equity », he concluded, before thanking the population of Mbandaka for his warm welcome and hospitality.
The 10th session of the Conference of Governors will be held in Kalemie, in the province of Tanganyika.
The Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady, stayed from December 21 to 23 in Mbandaka, in the province of Equateur, to chair the 9th edition of the Conference of Governors, it is recalled.
He focused his communication on the unity and solidarity to accompany the Congolese people in their action, for the development of the country, as well as on the implementation of the development program of the 145 territories of the DRC.
